The brief
Tajmahal is one of Streatham's longest-established Indian restaurants, trading since 1961. The owners wanted a full refurbishment of the premises — a modern, memorable dining room that still feels warm and welcoming, with every service behind the walls brought up to standard.
Maisk Developments was appointed to carry out the complete commercial renovation and fit-out: all the essential building services, plus the feature joinery, lighting and finishes that give the restaurant its new look.
What we delivered
We managed the whole project in-house, coordinating every trade so the restaurant could reopen to customers as quickly as possible.
LED lighting
LED lighting throughout — square LED features in the ceiling, backlit arched mirrors and warm accent lighting across the dining room.
Porcelain marble-effect tiles
Large-format premium porcelain floor tiles with a polished marble effect — hard-wearing, easy to clean and ideal for busy hospitality spaces.
Plumbing & electrics
Full first and second fix plumbing and electrics, providing safe, reliable services for the dining area, lighting and kitchen.
New customer WC
A brand-new toilet, installed and fitted out from scratch, including all plumbing, tiling and finishes.

Design details that make a difference
The CNC-cut MDF panels are the centrepiece of the interior. Cut to a precise geometric pattern and lit from behind with LED strips, they add depth, texture and a soft glow without taking up floor space. Opposite, a run of arched mirrors with LED backlighting reflects the panels and pendant lights, making a narrow high-street unit feel twice the size.
Underfoot, premium porcelain marble-effect tiles give the look of natural marble with the durability a commercial kitchen and dining room need. Above, square LED ceiling features add clean, even light and a modern architectural touch.
